Re-open a matter or error received of 'Document Exists in the Register'

Error of Document Exists in the Register when re-opening the matter about an archive document. Where do I re-open the matter?

To re-open a matter you will first have to check that there isn't an archive document in the Document register. Do this by following the steps below:

  1. From the Accounts Desktop select the Firm tab.

  2. Select Document Register.

  3. Select Search.

  4. Tick the box that says Matters and put the reference in, alternatively select the search Magnifying glass.

  5. You can add the Account Reference into the grid if you need it by right clicking on the header and Column Chooser.

  6. Find the record required then right click and Check Out.

You can then re-open the matter, this is done via the below:

  1. From the Accounts Desktop select Admin tab.

  2. Select the Matter Maintenance icon.

  3. Put the Account Reference in.

  4. Select the option on the right hand side Open Matter.
