See accounts with outstanding debt

  1. Open the Access Legal Fusion Accounts Desktop.

  2. Click Enquiries, then click Debtors.

This will then either show a list of all debts, or bring up a search form.

๐Ÿ“ŒNote: If you get a search form, click Search, with nothing entered, to show everything outstanding, or filter the list as appropriate.

You now have a list of accounts with outstanding debt.
This can be put in order by selecting the columns e.g. by Account Matter and then exported into Excel to be able to add the client totals.

Check financial balances match debtor balances:

  1. Access the Report Generator.

  2. Find the Debtor Bill Checks section.

  3. Run the Unpaid Bills Check report.

๐Ÿ“ŒNote: Run it for the relevant period, but be aware that any changes made to rectify balances will only show up in the current financial period.

A list of accounts where the office balance does not agree with the unpaid bills balance will be displayed.

If you determine that a receipt or transfer credit was posted, but was not allocated against a bill, you can handle this in one of two ways:

  • Reverse and re-post the transaction in question, ensuring to allocate against the bill when reposting.

๐Ÿ“ŒNote: If you reverse and re-post, it will affect the period selected during the posting.

  • Use the Debtor Enquiry to locate the debtor and edit the received amount.

  1. Open the Debtor record in the Debtor Enquiry.

  2. Click Edit then change the Office Recs figure to the value actually received.

Changing the Office Recs figure will post the changes to the current period. To confirm the change as being successful you can run the Debtor Bill Checks report / Aged Debtors report for the current period.

You can also run Client Statements on the system and Extract the data to list per client and a value.
