Crime stage matters are associated by the UFN number; this number is unique to the case.

To disassociate a matter, you need to remove the UFN from that matter. To do this, follow the steps below:

  1. View the matter from the Accounts Desktop.

  2. Select Edit Current Matter then click the Legal Aid tab.

  3. Remove the UFN and as much info as you can from the screen.

  4. Un-tick the Legal-Aided option from the top of the screen.

  5. To save the changes, click Apply.

The matter is now disassociated from the case and related matters. We recommend closing the matter from the same screen to prevent processing further work by mistake.

πŸ“ŒNote: If time has been booked to the duplicate matter, you need to transfer it using the Time and Transaction Manager. Don't do this if the matter you need to disassociate is the one the case is currently moved to, as this leaves the matter as the active case.
