Create a bill through the Fee earner Desktop

How can I create a bill through the Fee Earner Desktop? Can I create Draft bills through the system?

You can create a draft for authorisation or post when finalised in the Fee Earner Desktop by using the Billing Wizard application.
Do this by the following the below steps:

  1. Open the Fee Earner Desktop.

  2. You can either open a Case record or from the main Menu select the Home tab.

  3. Select the Billing & Costs drop down.

  4. Click New and then Draft Bill.

  5. Put in the Account Reference or if you are already in the Case this will populate.

  6. Put in the Bill Reference and select OK.

  7. Select the Type of bill you would like to do and put all the details in Press Next.

  8. Select the Time you require on the bill and press Next.

  9. Select if this Time is to be uplifted or if you don't require any fees to be added select Next.

  10. Select any Disbursements you require including, select Next.

  11. Break Down the VAT if needed to be amended on the Fees and select Next.

  12. Select who the Bill is going to be addressed to and select Next.

  13. You can pick up any Monies on account if you require these to be associated against a bill and select Next.

  14. Put the Bill Narrative in, select Next.

  15. Select Finish once all the fields are filled in.

  16. This will then put the bill where you requested it to go either into the Authorise status or in Posting Requests.

  17. If this is to be finalised at the point of posting, you'll get a different screen that allows you to pick the bill type and if any monies want to be paid against the bill select Finalise.
