Can't close case - Time allocated to a draft bill

How to close a case when time is allocated to a draft bill? Unable to close case due to error message: Time is allocated to a draft bill.

If the message 'Time is allocated to a draft bill' appears when trying to close a case but no further bills will be produced and you have been paid, then you need to delete the draft bill.

Please see the instructions below to find the draft bill and delete it:

  1. In FED, on the case overview screen, click the drop-down icon next to Billings & Costs.

  2. Select the Edit option.

  3. When the bill opens, check that you actually want to delete this draft bill as it can't be reversed.

  4. If you do wish to delete it then click the Delete button located on the bottom of the bill window.

Now you should be able to close the case.
