Cannot submit MTD VAT return

Why is my MTD not working? Why can't I submit my VAT return using Making Tax Digital on Access Legal Fusion?

If you are struggling to process your MTD, the likely issue is that you will need to re-authenticate your HMRC credentials.

You will need access to the Administrator's Desktop for this and to follow the steps below:

  1. Open the Administrator's Desktop.

  2. Enter Web service Maintenance.

  3. Double click on the Web Service called VAT Making Tax Digital.

  4. In the bottom left of this new window, click on the small arrow, dropdown next to the Authenticate button.

  5. Click on the Clear Credentials & Authenticate button. This will remove all stored information on the HMRC portal, asking you to re-authenticate your information.

  6. Attempt your VAT submission again.
