Add your Criminal Justice Secure eMail system (CJSM) account to Outlook

How to add your CJSM mailbox to Outlook.

To add your CJSM account to Outlook in the Hosted environment, you'll need to connect the CJSM Mailbox via POP3.

Configure a CJSM POP3 account

  1. Open Outlook 2013.

  2. Click File, then Account Settings and from the drop-down Accounts Settings.

  3. Click the Email Tab and then click NEW.

  4. Select the Manually Configure Server Setting or additional Server types checkbox and click NEXT.

  5. Select POP or IMAP and then click NEXT.

  6. Fill out the email configuration fields as below:

    • Your Name: John Smith (Enter your full name or nickname)

    • Email Address: [email protected] (Full CJSM email address)

    • Account Type: POP3 Incoming Mail server: mail.cjsm.net

    • Outgoing Mail server: smtp.cjsm.net

    • Password: Enter your CJSM password (the same one you use to login to the website)

    • Check Remember password.

  7. Click More Settings and then click the Outgoing server tab.

  8. Tick My outgoing Server (SMTP) Requires Authentication) and use the same settings as my incoming Mail Server should also be selected.

  9. Click the Advanced Tab and check This Server requires an encrypted Connection SSL (Port should change to 995).

  10. Under Outgoing Server, use the following type of encrypted connection:

    • Select either SSL or Auto.

    • Check Leave a Copy of messages on the server.

    • Check Remove From Server when deleted from Delete items.

    • Click on OK.

  11. Click Test Account Settings.

  12. If the account was setup Process Overview successfully, you'll see a pop up. Click Close, Next and Finish

  13. On the next pop up, click Close, Next and Finish.

πŸ“ŒNote: You have now successfully set up your CJSM Account. If the CJSM account is not set as default, please ensure you select to send from it, when sending a secure email.
