To locate, add, disable or link a court code in the address book, please see the instructions below:

Locate existing court codes
In Fee Earner Desktop (FED) select the Admin tab then click the Codes Maintenance button.
On the left-side of the screen, in the list find the entry (COU) COURTS.
You can sort the list alphabetically by clicking the Description header.
Check the list to see if the court is already listed.
Code not listed - add a new code
If the court is not listed then please see the instructions below:
Right-click in a blank area of the screen and choose option 'New Code of type COU'.
In the Properties window enter the court code in the Code field and the name of the court in the Description field.
Click Apply then click OK.
Court code incorrect - disable a code
If the court is listed but the corresponding code is incorrect, disable it by following the instructions below:
Right-click over the court in the list and click the Properties option.
Tick the box to disable to code.
Once it's been disabled, follow the above instructions to add a new code.
πNote: Existing codes cannot be edited.
Link code to the court record in the address book
Once the court code has been added you'll need to link this code to the court record in your address book.

To find the address book entry for the court please see the instructions below:
In FED, click the Home tab then click Contact.
In the contact type drop-down select CRT Courts.
To list all courts, click the Search button. Alternatively, enter the name of the court in the top search field and click the Search button.
If the court is not listed in the search results then a new contact record will need to be created. Please skip to the next section detailing how to do this.
If the court is listed in the search results then right-click over the entry and select Edit Court.
On the left-side of the contact record of the court click the Court tab.
Click the drop-down arrow in the LAA Court Code field to find the court. Again, the list can be sorted alphabetically by clicking the Description header. Once the court has been found select this to link it to the court contact record.
Finally, click the Save and Close button.
If a new contact record needs to be created for the court then please see the instructions below:
Click the File tab and click New for the list, and select New Contact Wizard.
If the option appears asking if you wish to attach the contact to a case click No - Add to the address book only and click the Next> button.
Click No radio button on the Conflict Search and click the Next> button.
In the new contact window in the Type drop-down select CRT Courts from the list.
Enter the court details, such as address, name, and telephone number.
Click the Court tab.
Under Court Type select the type.
Click the drop-down arrow in the LAA Court Code field to find the court. Again, the list can be sorted alphabetically by clicking the Description header. Once the court has been found select this to link it to the court contact record.
Finally click the Next> button.
