Changing the fee earner grade
Fee Earner Level is used by Legal Aid Time Rates and Client Charge Rates, and determines the level of Fee Earner rate to be applied, e.g. Articled clerk may be level 1, Paralegal level 2, Junior Fee Earner level 3, Senior Fee Earner level 4, Partner level 7, Senior Partner level 8 etc.
These levels can then be used when maintaining the above rates allowing different hourly charge rates to be allocated to each level. It is usual to set the lowest level as 1 and the highest level as 9. The system defaults to level 1. View our guidance on how to change the fee earner grade.
