PDF Files Open in Browser or Won’t Open

PDF files open in web browser or don't open at all

PDF files may open in a web browser instead of a dedicated application or fail to open entirely.

How to fix:

  1. Open Settings on your computer

  2. Go to Apps → Default apps

  3. Locate and select Adobe Acrobat Reader

Find the .pdf file type and assign it to Adobe Acrobat Reader (This will ensure all PDF files open in Acrobat instead of a browser.)
