Error -2147221504: LaidContractNo

Why do I receive the Error -2147221504: LaidContractNo contains invalid data. This error has been logged? Why can't I create a crime bill?

If you receive this error, it is likely that you are attempting to produce a crime bill. This error is triggered when there is either:

  1. No branch code in the Matter or Case area.

  2. The branch code does not have an LAA Crime Contact associated with it.

To check the first issue, you will just have to go to Edit > Matter > Codes and Edit > Case > Details, making sure that a branch code is set in both areas.

If a branch is already set in both locations, you will need to follow the following steps:

  1. Open the Administrator's Desktop.

  2. Enter Codes Maintenance.

  3. Navigate to (BRN)Branches.

  4. Double click on your required branch.

  5. Click on the Legal Aid Details tab.

  6. Input the relevant Legal Aid details for your particular branch.


If you re-attempt the bill and you are still having issues, please raise a new case online and reference the title of this article.
