The default chart configuration exports the Case Number and Matter Description into the subject line when sending emails via the Fee Earner Desktop.

You can configure this on a chart-by-chart basis, for example, employment cases may need to add Private and confidential at the start of the subject, followed by the client's name.

๐Ÿ“ŒNote: To complete the steps, you need access to Procedure File Maintenance.

  1. Double-click the required chart.

  2. From the Setup menu, click Email Subject Configuration.

  3. Click New then enter a name for the format of this email subject.

  4. In the drop-down, select the information to add as the subject.

If text should precede this, or follow after, click the Subject Configuration: field then type the text, eg Private & Confidential.

  5. Click Add then click OK.

  6. In Procedure Default, select the required email subject then click OK.

๐Ÿค“Tips:

  • Use dashes or slashes if required between exported fields. Fields are surrounded by double-chevrons.

  • The email subject line is available for email tasks created using this specific chart. Other charts require configuring accordingly.

  • When an email is produced, the subject line is built providing the data is available. If data is missing, the subject is left blank, for example, if the subject is built from a case question and the question hasn't been answered, that part of the subject is blank.

  • Select Blank Subject as the default to leave the subject line blank when creating an email from the case.
