Add a condition to a question

Please see the instructions below detailing how to add Conditions to a question or step in a workflow:

  1. Open Procedure File Maintenance from either the Admin tab or Administrators Desktop.

  2. Double click the chart or workflow.

  3. In the list find the section where the question is located and click the plus + icon next to it.

  4. Select the relevant step.

  5. From the list find the question you wish to add the condition to and highlight it.

  6. Located towards the bottom-left of the window click the Conditions radio button.

  7. You will see on the right the condition setup.

  8. Click the Add button to configure the condition.

  9. Choose whether the condition is based on another Step or Question.

  10. In the drop-down choose the step or question you wish to base the condition on.

  11. Under the Condition drop-down choose the relevant operator.

  12. Choose Value or Question.

  13. Enter the value or choose the question from the drop-down.

  14. Finally, click the Apply button.


Please see the example below:

If you have a question which is 001 MORTGAGE REQUIRED? then the next question is 002 HAS A LENDER BEEN ARRANGED? then you would need to set a condition on the 002 question to say only ask this question if the answer to 001 is equal to yes.

To add this condition, you should:

  • Click on the 002 question from the tree view.

  • Click on the Conditions button.

  • Within the Conditions screen you would:

    1. Click Add.

    2. Select the Question radio button.

    3. Select question code 001 within drop down box.

    4. Select 'Y' indicator equals YES within Condition field.

    5. Click Apply.

    6. Click Properties to close Conditions screen.
